I’m pretty sure my dad had a digital watch in the late70’s/early 80’s that didn’t stay on. You had to press a button to show the time.
I remember because I dissembled it in the mid 80’s.

@mikesbadtweets No, it wouldn’t be good for a 6 year old. Signed a 6yo with a switch’s dad. Honestly, it depends on the game and who in the family is in charge of charging remotes and if you allow them to make it portable.
