Would you rather have a portfolio piece that was amazing but really came from a template? Or would you rather have a portfolio piece that really pushed you and made you uncomfortable at times but was still amazing and 100% yours? One that you know inside and out?

Today I read my student evaluations. As usual, they were good. As usual, one person hated me. As usual, I heard “I wish we had more structure”.
